氢氧化钾具有碱的通性,易溶于水,有强烈腐蚀性。溶于水放出大量热。并且由于氢氧化物对碳水化合物的分解作用,而使其相对于酸腐蚀的危险更加严重,经腐蚀的皮肤,通常呈现深度灼伤,且难以愈合,一旦眼睛或皮肤接触到,应迅速将受伤部位以水不断冲洗15分钟以上,并立即就医;口服会灼伤消化道,可致命。
